Michaels of Oregon names three to new positions - Industry Newsmakers

Michaels of Oregon has filled three positions in sales management and technical support.

Tim Murphy has been promoted to OEM sales manager. He will be responsible for the four Michaels of Oregon brands. He joined the company nine years ago as northern regional manager for Uncle Mike's products. In 2000, he became Western regional manager for the law enforcement division. A former gun shop owner, Murphy has been in the firearms business since 1977.

Rick Phillips, the new national accounts manager for Uncle Mike's, Butler Creek and Hoppe's, has extensive sales experience in the mass-market sector. Before joining Michaels of Oregon in November 2002, he was director of national accounts for Sonic Blue.

Janette Palmer was a technical service representative for Uncle Mike's, Butler Creek and Hoppe's divisions before being promoted to technical support supervisor. She joined Michaels of Oregon in May 2002, after serving as project coordinator for the city of Wilsonville, Ore. She attended Oregon State University, and is an avid hunter and sporting clays competitor.
