Hunting Cartridge

Shooting Industry, July, 2001

PMC has added the .45-70 Government hunting load to its Silver Line. The new load features a 400 grain, jacketed soft point bullet and a muzzle velocity of 2,025 feet per second. This combination of velocity and bullet weight produces a muzzle energy of 3,187 foot pounds, with more than a ton of energy remaining at 100 yards.

PMC emphasizes that the new PMC .45-70 hunting cartridge should not be used in the Trapdoor Springfield or in lever-action rifles or carbines of lower receiver strength.
