Shooting Industry, July, 2002 by Russ Thurman
The Step Outside program by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NS SF) is extremely successful. Its goal is to have those of us who participate in hunting, fishing, archery and target shooting to invite someone new to join us. And there are a lot of people just waiting to be asked.
"A recent poll conducted by Roper Starch on behalf of the NSSF shows that 48 percent of men and women between the ages of 18-29 who have never gone target shooting would if they were invited," said Jodi DiCamillo, the program's national coordinator. "Millions of people are ready to Step Outside, and are simply waiting to be invited."
A new free video, "You're Invited to Step Outside," helps everyone take advantage of this successful program.
"This video is a valuable tool for state agencies, clubs, sporting organizations and just about anybody who is looking to get more people involved in traditional outdoor sports," said DiCamillo.
To receive the free video, call (203) 426-1320 and request item #8111. The CD version is item #8112. For more information on Step Outside, contact DiCamillo at jdicamillo@nssf.org.
