Topic: RSS FeedKahr's .45 gives women reliable stopping power
Shooting Industry, July, 2005 by Lisa Parsons-Wraith
When Kahr Arms entered the firearms arena in the mid-'90s, the company quickly became known for its innovative design and out-of-the-box reliability. Kahr pistols, manufactured with computer numerical control (CNC) machines, have become favorite carry guns for shooters across America. Their first offering, the K9, set the style and tone for the rest of the Kahr line. These include quality 9mm and .40 caliber stainless steel and polymer pistols. Recently, Kahr Arms broke the .45 barrier with the introduction of the Model KP4543, known as the P45.

Women who want maximum firepower from a highly concealable gun will love this lightweight and compact .45 ACP pistol. It sports a textured black polymer frame, a 3.54-inch match-grade polygonal rifled barrel and a matte stainless steel slide. The slide rides on special front and rear steel inserts for long-term durability, reliability and accuracy.
The accuracy of Kahr's pistols comes from the company's utilization of the programming and tooling capabilities of CNC machining centers. Kahr pistols' main components are precision machined to the tightest universal tolerances. The machined parts are cut exactly to the engineering blueprint, assuring proper assembly and peak performance from Kahr pistols.
The stainless steel, single-stack magazine for the P45 holds six rounds and Kahr's smooth double-action trigger pull ensures the gun is a pleasure to shoot.
The P45 weighs a mere 18.5 ounces, has an overall length of 6.3 inches and the height from the top of the rear sight to the bottom of the grip is just 4.8 inches. The width of the slide and the grip are just about an inch. This is a gun a lady can easily conceal and be secure in knowing she has a reliable firearm with enough stopping power to protect herself.
The Kahr P45 ships with two, six-round, stainless steel magazines and a trigger lock. Standard sights are low-profile, white bar-dot combat sights, with 3-dot tritium sights available as an option. The P45 with standard sights has a suggested retail of $737 and with the night sights, it is $845.
