The UF-100 Fully Automated Urine Cell Analyzer by Sysmex Corp. of America was added to the GSA Federal Supply Schedule submitted by Allegiance Healthcare Corp., the U.S. distributor for this product. Under this contract, Sysmex will sell the UF-100 analyzer and its reagents, as well as provide sales, marketing, and technical support to U.S. government clinical laboratories. The UF-100 is designed to bring efficiency and quality to routine, microscopic urine analysis, a high-volume test that is performed manually in many cases. Sysmex, Long Grove, IL, is a manufacturer of diagnostic systems and is involved in the development of clinical laboratory testing devices, reagents, and software for hematology, hemostasis, immunochemistry, and particle counting, as well as urinalysis. McGaw Park, IL-based Allegiance Healthcare, a Cardinal Health Inc. subsidiary, is a provider of healthcare products and cost-management services for laboratories, hospitals, and other healthcare organiza tions.

* Sysmex has also announced that under a new 18-month contract recently signed with Premier Inc., Sysmex, through its distributor Allegiance Healthcare, will sell the UF-100 analyzers and reagents to Premier members and affiliates. Premier is a national alliance of not-for-profit hospitals.
