Binax NOW Legionella Urine Antigen Test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay used for the early diagnosis of Legionnella pneumophila serogroup 1 infection through detection of a specific soluble antigen present in the urine of Legionnaires Disease patients. The test is simple to run and needs no pipettes or equipment. The swab goes directly from the patient's urine into the device itself. Results are available within 15 minutes of taking the sample, and the test kit can be stored at room temperature for up to 12 months.
