Diagnostic test for IBD - Industry Spotlight

Medical Laboratory Observer, Feb, 2004

The IBD-CHEK diagnostic test aids in identifying patients with active inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and rule out those with irritable bowel syndrome, a noninflammatory condition. The test is based on elevated levels of fecal lactoferrin, which will show positive in patients who suffer from chronic inflammation of the bowel in the form of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
