The Applied Phlebotomy video series consists of three videotapes: "Basic Venipuncture," "Preventing Preanalytical Errors," and "Avoiding Phlebotomy-Related Lawsuits." Features include interviews, case studies, 3D graphic animation, and content that reflects the recently revised CLSI (formerly NCCLS) standards and OSHA regulations. Each tape qualifies for CE credit through ASCLS' P.A.C.E. program. Videos are available individually or as a set. Three options for continuing education are offered Published modules are available for purchase, covering immunology, microbiology, hematology, management, and other subjects. CE credits earned are accepted by Florida and California for MT and MLT licensure renewal. AMT members automatically receive the Journal of Continuing Education Topics and Issues. Published thrice yearly, the journal contains five to six CE articles and post tests in each issue. The articles are technical in nature and cover a wide range of topics. These articles and post tests are also included in the STEP Online Continuing Education Program. Available to both members and non-members, STEP Online also includes archived articles. The extensive course library consists of compliance and CLS offerings including OSHA safety training; CLIA competency testing; HIPAA, as well as Medicare, compliance for clinical laboratories; DOT training including urine collection; case studies in clinical laboratory medicine; competency assessment checklists from various manufacturers; basic CLS topics including cerebrospinal fluid, urinalysis, Gram stains, and more. Individual subscriptions are ideal to fulfill CME, review, and compliance requirements. Institutional subscriptions provide full access to the online learning system for medical and other facilities.
