Cancer diagnostic services company adds genomic testing systems - Industry Watch - Brief Article

US LABS Inc. will expand its cancer diagnostic services with the addition of automated image analysis systems supplied by Applied Imaging Corp., Santa Clara, CA. The systems will be used for genomic testing in cancer, leukemia, and lymphoma cases. Initially, US LABs will install 12 of the systems in its Irvine, CA testing facility and expects to add another eight systems during 2002.

Applied Imaging's MDS System is an advanced scanning microscopy system designed to conduct analysis of both gene and protein expression in cancer cells. Utilizing a proprietary combination of fluorescence and brightfield microscopy, the MDS offers laboratories the ability to analyze the results of complex, multiparameter test panels.
