The Greenwich, CT-based First Reserve Corp. has agreed to acquire the Dresser Rand Company, a business unit of Ingersoll Rand Company Ltd., for approximately $1.2 billion. The acquisition is First Reserve's third from a major multinational corporation this year and its second billion-dollar transaction in the past six months.
