David M. McClanahan, president and CEO of CenterPoint Energy of Houston, has been elected to serve as chairman of the American Gas Association's board of directors for 2008.

AGA's other officers for 2008 will be: First Vice Chairman Thomas E. Skains, Chairman, President and CEO of Piedmont Natural Gas Co., Inc., Charlotte, ND; Second Vice Chairman Robert C. Skaggs, Jr., President and CEO of NiSource, Inc., Merrillville, IN; and Immediate Past Chairman James H. DeGraffenreidt, Jr., Chairman and CEO of WGL Holdings, Inc., Washington, DC.

In other news, Wm. Michael Warren, chairman of the board of Energen Corp. of Birmingham, AL, and Wallace P. Parker, Jr. of KeySpan Corp. of Brooklyn, NY were presented with the AGA's highest honor--the Distinguished Service Award--at the recent annual corporate meeting. The award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the natural gas industry.
