Tuboscope receives award of large ultrasonic crack inspection contract from Explorer

Tuboscope Pipeline Services has been awarded a 545-mile inspection project by Explorer Pipeline, based out of Tulsa, OK. Tuboscope has been contracted to perform the inline inspection utilizing NDT's Line Explorer UC crack detection technology. The inspection is on Explorer's 28-inch products pipeline system from Port Arthur, TX to Glenpool, OK.

The products pipeline is part of Explorer's 1,400 mile system, consisting mostly of 24-inch and 28-inch diameter pipe that transports gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The inspection will be done in four separate sections, the longest one being 249 miles. Inspection of all four segments will be performed in a single mobilization and each section, regardless of length, will be inspected in a single survey run.
