The test was conducted by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) and West Virginia University, which has worked with NETL for the past two years to advance the detection system. The device is one of a suite of technologies being developed by the Energy Department's Office of Fossil Energy. For more information, visit www.fossil.energy.gov.
