Koch buys Valero's interest in Mont Belvieu fractionator

Pipeline & Gas Journal, May, 2002

Koch Holdings Enterprises, LLC, has bought the 40 percent ownership that formerly was held by subsidiaries of Valero Energy Corp. in a natural gas liquids fractionator in Mont Belvieu, TX.

The Mont Belvieu fractionator 1's capacity is 160,000 bpd. Until the transaction, Diamond-Koch entities formed by Koch units and Ultramar Diamond Shamrock, held the 80 percent interest. Valero bought Ultlamar Diamond Shamrock last year, prompting a consolidation of ownership in the fractionator.

The Mont Belvieu 1 Fractionator separates mixed natural gas liquids into specific products including ethane, propane, mixed butanes and natural gasoline. The facility is about 30 miles from Houston.
