He had been vice president, finance, Saint Mary's Health Network, Reno, Nevada. Long is the current chairman of the HFMA Board of Directors.

Richard J. Henley, FHFMA, FACHE, MA (Metropolitan New York Chapter), has been named executive vice president (COO and CFO), Health Quest, Poughkeepsie, New York. He had been executive vice president and treasurer, Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, New York. Henley served as chairman of the HFMA Board of Directors in 1999-2000.

Terry L. Stofferson, DBA (First Illinois Chapter), has been named senior vice president, finance and operations, Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, Illinois. Previously, he was COO, St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City, Kansas.

Miriam A. Leonard, MHA (Maine Chapter), has been promoted from associate vice president of operations and clinical services coordinator to vice president of operations, Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine.

Shelly L. "Woody" White III, MHA, CPA (Mississippi Chapter), has been named CFO at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville, Mississippi. He had been chief operations officer at Palestine Regional Medical Center, Palestine, Texas.

Robbi-Lynn Watnik, JD (Colorado Chapter), has joined Holland & Hart LLP Denver, Colorado, as of counsel in the healthcare practice group. Previously, she was consulting on compliance issues and had been technical director, legal services, HFMA, Washington, D.C.

Cheryl Y. Ward, FACHE, FAAMA, MHA (Alabama Chapter), has been promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president/COO, Providence Hospital, Mobile, Alabama.

Dereesa Purtell, MBA, CPA (Lone Star Chaper), has been promoted from corporate director of managed care to vice president, managed care and strategic planning, University Medical Center, Lubbbock, Texas.

Thomas A. Elliott, CPA (Western Pennsylvania Chapter), has been promoted from executive director, Saint Vincent Surgery Center, to acting senior vice president of finance, Saint Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pennsylvania.

Thomas G. Kupp, MBA (Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter), has joined MCP Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as senior executive director of physician business services. He had been associate administrator, Jefferson University Physicians, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
