Region 9 hosts symposium

This year's Region 9 Symposium, "Revenue & All That Jazz, 2nd Verse," will take place December 1-3 in New Orleans. General sessions include:

* "How to Hire |he Best People: A Nuts and Bolts Workshop," featuring Carson F. Dye, partner, Witt Kieffer

* "HFMA National Resources to Help You Work More Effectively," featuring Richard Rodriguez, HFMA National Chairman- Elect

* "Good to Great: How Organizations Evaluate Performance," featuring Chip Caldwell, president, Caldwell and Associates, and Michael L. McEachern, FACHE, senior vice president and COO, St. Vincent's Hospital

* "Management Responses to Control Trends and Impact on Hospital Financial Statements," featuring W. Stephen Love, senior vice president and controller, Triad Hospitals, Inc.

* "Certifying Financials: Financial Disclosure, Ethics and Success (Yes, All in the Same Breath[)," featuring Ben Greenspan, clinical associate professor, University of Illinois at Chicago

* "Capital Access Issues and Implications for Providers," featuring Andrew J. Majka, partner, Kaufman Hall & Associates

* "Washington Review ... A Legislative Update," featuring Gary W. Eiland, partner, Vinson & Elkins, LLP
