More HFMA chapters donate to September 11 funds - HFMA News - Brief Article - Statistical Data Included

Healthcare Financial Management, Jan, 2002

The number of HFMA chapters that have pledged to donate $1,000 or more to organizations providing assistance to victims and rescue workers of the September 11 terrorist attacks has grown. The pledge drive was initiated by HFMA's Montana Chapter soon after the attacks. The first HFMA chapters to contribute to the relief effort were listed in the November 2001 issue of HEALTHCARE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT.

At press time, the Hawaii Chapter, the Maryland Chapter, the Northwest Ohio Chapter, the Rochester Regional Chapter, and the San Diego-Imperial Chapter were the latest chapters to have pledged their support. HFMA Region 7 also has met the Montana challenge by contributing to relief efforts. To date, HFMA chapters, regions, and the National office have raised more than $19,600 for relief organizations.
