HFMA has announced the nominees for the 2004-05 National Board of Directors. The nominee for Chairman-Elect for 2004-05 is Richard Rodriguez, FHFMA, assistant administrator, University Hospital, University Health System. San Antonio, Tex. Joseph Fifer, FHFMA, CPA, Vice President of finance, Spectrum Campus, Grand Bapids, Mich. is the nominee for Secretary-Treasurer.
HFMA also identified the following nominees to the Board, serving from June 1, 2004, to May 31, 2007:
* Catherine A. Jacobson, CPA, senior vice president of finance, CFO, and treasurer, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago
* Lawrence E. McManus, PHPMA, CPA. executive vice president, Caritas Christi Health Care System, Brighton, Mass.

* John A. Orsini. CPA, vice president of financial operations, Catholic Healthcare West, Phoenix
Nominees are recommended by HFMA's Governance Committee, which meets each fall to identify, recruit, and develop individuals to serve on the Board. After Board approval, the slate of officers and directors are presented to members for election by a proxy vote in April. The election process begins in February.
The 15-member National Board consists of three elected officers, one appointed officer, one appointed director, and 10 elected directors. Joyce Zimowski, FHFMA, CPA, current chair-elect, will take office on June 1, 2004.
