HFMA is offering new Web-based training courses covering healthcare industry topics through its Web site, www.hfma.org. The courses cover more than 1,000 healthcare industry topics and can be purchased either by individuals or as customized packages by organizations. The Web-based courses provide the advantage of flexibility to learners, who can examine the study material at their own pace and at a time most convenient to them.

Topics covered include compliance, billing, patient access, HIPAA, accounting and finance, medical terminology, JCAHO issues, and other healthcare-related subjects. Course content is developed by HFMA or other select industry experts. Individuals can have access to the HFMA Web-based courses they purchase at any time through a secure Web-hosting environment. Each course, with its self-examination, can be completed in 15 minutes.
The Web-based training materials can be customized for organizational use. After purchase, courses for organizations can be ready for implementation by employees within three business days. Organizational packages include learning management system for use at any management level, from corporate or regional to departmental or individual.
HFMA is offering the e-learning courses as part of its mission to foster professional development through education, information, and leadership training of the highest professional standards. The courses are offered through a partnership between HFMA and Weblnservice, Atlanta, Georgia, a provider of Web-based training.
