"Hipaa Boot Camp" Planned For Hfma Annual Conference On Managed Care

The theme of HFMA's 11th Annual Conference on Managed Care is "Change: The New Constant." This year's conference will take place September 23-25 at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach, California.

Keynote addresses will be presented by Stuart H. Altman, PhD, professor of national health policy, Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts, and chair of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Council on the Economic Impact of Health System Change at Brandeis University; and Leonard D. Schaeffer, chairman and CEO, WellPoint Health Networks, Inc., Gaithersburg, Maryland. Altman will present "Spending Growth for Health Care: Are We Returning to the Inflation Cycle of the 1980s?" Schaeffer will cover "Health Plans of the New Millennium."

On Sunday, September 23, the conference will offer a full-day workshop entitled "HIPAA Boot Camp: Meeting the Requirements and Seizing the Opportunities."
