Healthcare Financial Management, July, 2004
Bridges to Excellence, a coalition of several large employers, is sponsoring an initiative to pay participating physicians to adopt certain electronic systems to help manage and improve care within their practices. Under the Physician Office Link program, a bonus of up to $50 per qualified patient will be paid for the use of electronic tools such as patient registries, patient education programs, care management systems, and electronic medical records. The information technology (IT) incentives program began last year in Boston and has been extended to Cincinnati, Louisville, and the area surrounding Albany-Schenectady, N.Y.
