1998-1999 HFMA board candidates nominated - Healthcare Financial Management Assn

The HFMA Nominating Committee met at HFMA's corporate office

in Westchester, Illinois, December 3-4 to nominate members to positions on

the HFMA Board of Directors for 1998-99. The nominee for 1998-99 HFMA

chairman-elect was Richard J. Henley, FHFMA, FACHE, executive vice

president, administration, and treasurer at Vassar Brothers Hospital,

Poughkeepsie, New York. Henley, a member of the Metropolitan New York

Chapter, currently is HFMA National Treasurer.

Connie S. Cape, FHFMA, CPA, vice president and CFO at Mercy Memorial

Hospital Corporation in Monroe, Michigan, has been nominated as 1998-99 HFMA

National Secretary-Treasurer. Currently, Cape is the Association's National

Secretary. She is a member of HFMA's Eastern Michigan Chapter.

Beginning June 1, 1998, members elected to the HFMA Board of Directors will

serve three-year terms. This new policy ensures greater continuity of Board

membership. To initiate the policy, the nominating committee chose two Board

members currently in their second year of Board service to have their terms

extended by one year in 1998-99. They are:

* John A. Forsman, FHFMA (New Jersey Chapter), corporate CFO, Community

Medical Center, Toms River, New Jersey, from Region 3.

* Ronald R. Long, FHFMA, CPA (Nevada Chapter), senior vice president and

CFO, St. Mary's Health Network, Reno, Nevada, from Region 11.

The nominees for three-year terms beginning June 1, 1998, are:

* Laurie M. Nelle, FHFMA (Rhode Island Chapter), site manager, Providence

Ambulatory Health Care Foundation, Inc., Providence, Rhode Island, from

Region 1.

* Joyce A. Zimowski, FHFMA, CPA (Rochester Regional Chapter), vice

president of finance, Unity Health System, Rochester, New York, from Region

2;

* Gregory H. Rogers, FHFMA, CPA (Great Lakes Chapter), vice president and

controller, MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland, Michigan, from Region 6;

and

* Wayne R. Hutson, FHFMA, CPA (Indiana Pressler Memorial Chapter), vice

president of finance, Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana, from Region 7.
