Cerestar USA, Hammond, Ind., applied for GRAS consideration of beta cyclodextrin. The Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Assoc. of the U.S. Expert Panel reviewed the application and decided to recognize the beta cyclodextrin as GRAS for use as a flavor modifier in the food categories at use levels specified in the GRAS application submitted to the U.S. FDA.
