ALL Star Recognizes Member Dairies

Dairy Foods, May, 2001

LAS VEGAS--All Star Dairy Association recently held its 46th annual convention and honored several dairies during its annual awards presentation. The "John D. Utter back" Dairy of Year Award was presented to Plains Dairy Products or Amarillo, Texas. The purchasing award went to Dairy Maid Dairy of Frederick, Md.

Southwest Dairy, of Tyler, Texas was named Best Fluid Plant and Best Ice Cream Plant as part of the Quality Assurance Awards. Best Cultured Plant honors went to Trauth Dairy in Newport, Ky. The "Doc Lawrence" Most Improved award went to Central Dairy in Jefferson City, Mo. The Thoroughbred Award" for Supplier of the Year was given to Solvay Polymars Inc., of Houston. The association, started in 1955, has more than 200 member plants in 43 states.
