Inverness Medical Innovations

Drug Store News,  August 18, 2003  by Michael Johnsen

Inverness Medical Innovations announced late last month it plans to acquire Applied Biotech from Apogent Technologies. Based in San Diego, Applied Biotech manufactures rapid diagnostic products in the areas of women's health, infectious disease and drug testing.

The deal, which is being funded primarily through a stock-swap transaction with Inverness acquiring all Apogent shares, is expected to close some time this month.
