Taro's ANDA for Clobetasol Propionate Gel, 0.05% approved

The Food and Drug Administration has approved Taro Pharmaceutical Industries' ANDA for Clobetasol Propionate Gel, 0.05%. The ANDA was submitted by the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Taro Pharmaceuticals Inc. of Ontario, Canada. Taro's Clobetasol Propionate Gel is classified as a very high potency topical corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe dermatologic conditions.

Clobetasol Gel is bioequivalent to Glaxo Wellcome's Temovate(r) Gel. The product is the newest addition to the company's line of generic Clobetasol products, including Clobetasol cream, ointment and solution.
