Halsey Drug elects new chairman, names COO

Michael Reicher has been elected chairman of Halsey Drug Co. Reicher, who currently serves as president and chief executive, assumes the position previously held by William Skelly, who will remain a member of the company's board.

Halsey also announced that Gerald Price has been recruited to fill the newly created position of chief operating officer, reporting to Reicher. Price will have responsibility for managing operations, executing the company's business strategies and participating in business development activities.

Price joins Rockford, 111.-based Halsey from Barr Laboratories, where he held various management positions during his 10 years with the company, most recently as vice president of strategic business development.

Price assumed his new position with Halsey on Aug. 15 and will maintain primary offices at the company's Congers, N.Y., facility.
