TORONTO -- Shoppers Drug Mart has named David Williams to its board.

Williams was president and chief executive officer of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, North America's second largest workplace disability insurance organization. Prior to that he was chief financial officer of Loblaw, the food chain that was once the stomping grounds for Shopper's chairman and chief executive officer Glenn Murphy

"[Williams'] experience in leading large organizations and his knowledge of the retail industry in Canada will be invaluable to Shoppers Drug Mart," Murphy stated.
