Personal care company Helen of Troy has acquired the worldwide rights and trademarks to the Ogilvie brand of at-home salon hair permanent and straightening products from bankrupt Ascendia Brands. According to published reports, Helen of Troy paid about $4.7 million for Ogilvie.

Helen of Troy will integrate Ogilvie into its Idelle division of skin and hair care products. It expects Ogilvie to generate about $10 million in sales on an annualized basis and the acquisition to be accretive during the fourth quarter ending Feb. 28.

In other Ascendia news, Naterra International acquired Baby Magic, the maker of assorted baby care| products. Snapping up the Mr. Bubble bubble bath from Ascendia was The Village Co.
