NEW YORK -- Helene Curtis, makers of ThermaSilk, Salon Selectives and Finesse hair care products, has launched a Web site offering hair care advice without a product-specific focus.

Helenecurtis.com offers general hair care and styling information in a simple format where women can explore, learn and share the latest hair care tips and information.

"Helenecurtis.com was developed to be the destination women will enjoy and want to visit for answers to all their hair needs," said Leslie Geissler, marketing director for Helene Curtis and Unilever Home & Personal Care USA.

The site features Hair-O-Meter, a three-day weather forecast personalized with weatherproof hair care advice, and What Works For You, an interactive hairstyle selector developed with the help of celebrity stylist Richard Martin. Another segment, Time of Your Life, offers customized hair advice for women of different ages.

Along with constantly updated information, Helene Curtis plans to host special event chats moderated by celebrity stylists. Online forums or chat rooms for women to interact with each other also have been discussed.
