Serono

Drug Store News, Nov 3, 2003

Serono received FDA approval for its new pre-filled syringe for Ovidrel (choriogonadotropin alfa injection), a drug that triggers ovulation in women undergoing treatment for inferfility. Ovidrel is the only liquid, ready-to-inject therapy patients can administer in one step. It also is the only available recombinant version of human chorionic gonadotropin, one of the three hormones required to treat infertility.

Available this month, the pre-filled syringe has the same indication as the currently marketed powder form.
