Industry News--The Photo Marketing Association reported that discount stores and drug stores led the way in photo processing during the 12-month period through the end of July. Drug chains and mass merchandisers took share from camera stores, one-hour labs, supermarkets and the mail order segment. Discount stores led with 38.4 percent of the market, followed by drug stores, with 26.1 percent of the market.

Supermarkets share of the photo processing market fell slightly to 11.3 percent, followed by warehouse clubs with 10.5 percent, camera stores with 3.1 percent and one-hour labs with 1.3 percent.
