Medicine Shoppe installs new Rx development chief

Drug Store News, Nov 22, 2004

ST. LOUIS -- Medicine Shoppe International has named Guy Stillwell to the new post of vice president of pharmacy development.

Stillwell will oversee all pharmacy real estate transactions, market feasibility studies, pharmacy openings and the development of new programs and initiatives for both the Medicine Shoppe and Medicap Pharmacies franchise pharmacy chains under the MSI umbrella, according to the company.

Over the past 15 years, Stillwell has owned and operated three Medicine Shoppe pharmacies. He also had been a consultant on pharmacy operations and acquisitions to MSI's parent company, Cardinal Heath.

"Guy brings great experience to our team, both in his experience in pharmacy operations and as a franchisee and pharmacist," said Dan Lhota, senior vice president of development for MSI.

Meanwhile, Medicine Shoppe continues its search for a successor to former president Bob Storch, who resigned last month after nearly two years as head of the 1,300-store international franchisor. Mark Parrish, executive vice president for Cardinal's pharmaceutical and specialty distribution businesses and group president of pharmaceutical distribution, continues as interim head of the division.
