PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Safeway has promoted David Lee to president and general manager of perishables. In his new role, Lee will oversee the company's non-perishable marketing functions, including grocery, home care and general merchandise. He also will oversee the retailer's health and wellness operation, which includes pharmacy and health and beauty care.

The retailer also appointed Rojon Hasker president and general manager of perishables and Lifestyle. Hasker will oversee the perishable marketing functions, including produce, floral, meat, seafood, food service and bakery. Hasker also will manage Lifestyle store marketing initiatives where perishables have become the cornerstone of the company's new format.

Hasker joined Safeway in 1972, and in 2003, she joined the corporate marketing team.
