Generic Coumadin OK'd in Florida

Drug Store News, Jan 21, 2002

The Florida Board of Pharmacy has removed warfarin sodium, the generic version of Bristol-Myers Squibb's heart drug Coumadin, from its "negative formulary list."

The decision to remove Coumadin ends a two-year legislative battle with Florida lawmakers. The annual sales of wafarin sodium products in Florida alone are estimated to be more than $40 million.
