Ivax's lisinopril gets tentative OK

Ivax has received tentative FDA approval for the marketing of its lisinopril tablets in 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg and 40 mg strengths. Lisinopril is indicated for the treatment hypertension, heart failure and acute myocardial infarction.

Lisinopril is the generic equivalent of Astra Zeneca's Zestril. Ivax hopes to begin marketing the generic version after Zestril's patent expires June 29.
