Tokyo-based Eisai will increase its U.S. pharmaceutical sales force by 60 percent

Drug Store News, March 3, 2003

Tokyo-based Eisai will increase its U.S. pharmaceutical sales force by 60 percent, the company announced in January, by adding 150 sales representatives this year. Over a two-year period, Eisai plans to double its sales force to more than 500 sales representatives.

The increased sales force will assist in promoting Eisai's Alzheimer's treatment, Aricept (donepezil hydrochloride tablets) and its proton pump inhibitor, Aciphex (rabeprazole sodium). Eisai co-promotes those medications with Pfizer and Janssen Pharmaceutica, respectively.
