FDA clears Periostat for periodontitis

CollaGenex received FDA approval to market a new 20 mg tablet form of Periostat (doxycycline) for periodontitis. The drug had been available previously only in capsule form. The tablet version is described by one industry report as easier to swallow and able to deliver the same strength as capsules.
