Major beverage makers revamp management teams

PLANO, Texas -- Cadbury Schweppes, parent of Dr. Pepper/Seven Up, has reorganized its executive management team to focus on performance and strategic development, said chief executive John Sunderland.

Under the restructuring, John Brock, 51, formerly managing director of the beverage stream, has moved to the post of chief operating officer and will be responsible for both the beverage and confectionery businesses. Todd Stitzer, 47, former president and chief executive of Dr. Pepper/Seven Up, has become chief strategy officer, reporting to Sunderland. Stitzer also joins the company's board of directors. Doug Tough, former president of Cadbury Schweppes International Beverages, will take over as chief executive of Dr. Pepper/Seven Up. Ian Johnston, former managing director of the confectionery business, will leave the company.

In other beverage news, Pepsi-Cola has named Jim Nyce as vice president of strategy and insights for Pepsi-Cola North America. Nyce, 49, most recently served as vice president of insights and growth strategies with the company's Tropicana subsidiary.
