Financial News--Conair Corp., a maker of personal hair care appliances, has acquired the Scunci hair accessory business from Scunci International for an undisclosed amount.

Conair, which will gain a solid foothold in the hair accessory business as a result of the deal, stated that it plans to expand the Scunci product line to include hair care appliances.

Plans to extend the market into Europe, where Conair already has a presence in hair care appliances under its BaByliss brand, will further bolster Conair's leadership position.
