Beindorif tapped to lead PlanetRx into the future

Drug Store News, April 24, 2000

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO -- Just a month after becoming president of online drug store PlanetRx.com, Michael Beindorff was named chief executive April 13, and will now have complete responsibility for all facets of the company.

William Razzouk, who had been chief executive and chairman, continues as chairman and will be based in Memphis, Tenn., where PlanetRx.com maintains its distribution center and pharmacy operations. He will help oversee the growth of both the distribution center and pharmacy operations as well as facilitate strategic partnerships, the company said in a statement.

Before joining PlanetRx.com last October, Beindorif for a short period was president of e-Visa, where he was responsible for development of Visa's Internet business. At PlanetRx.com, Beindorff has been in charge of operations, including marketing, customer satisfaction and brand development.

In making the announcement of Beindorffs promotion, Razzouk noted that Beindorff "has been running the company's day to day operations for some months now and has done an exemplary job, so this promotion is a logical next step for PlanetRx.com."

"He is an excellent leader and one of the smartest people I have ever hired," Razzouk said. "I am very confident in his ability to lead PlanetRx.com into the future."
