Alpharma receives OK for Permethrin Lotion 1%

Alpharma has received approval for Permethrin Lotion 1%, bioequivalent to Warner-Lambert's Nix Creeme Rinse 1%. Marketed by Alpharma's Baltimore-based US Pharmaceuticals Division, Permethrin 1% Lotion will be packaged in 60 ml. bottles, available in single and twin packs. The product is indicated for the treatment of head lice and will compete in a $170 million lice treatment market.

The product will complement Alpharma's existing line of lice treatment products, which includes Pyrinyl shampoo and spray products.
