Smart Inventions

Drug Store News, April 24, 2000

PARAMOUNT, Calif. -- Smart Inventions is hoping to capitalize on the success of its touch-activated TapLight, launching the Mini TapLight this month. The 4-inch-diameter version of the flagship round, white dome lamp features the same touch-activated and battery-operated conveniences. Its size makes it more adaptable to situations in which space is limited, such as crowded bedside tables or dark cupboards. The Mini TapLight also provides a decorative solution to create ambient lighting around stereo consoles, wall units and vanity areas or even around ordinary medicine cabinets to create a flattering makeup light. Both TapLight models are water resistant and useful in emergency situations, to illuminate outdoor walkways, along driveways, on patios and boats.

Packaging containing two Mini Taplights carries a suggested retail price of $4.99 and will be available this month.

Smart Inventions is backing the Mini TapLight with a $7 million television marketing program.
