> According to research from Unity Marketing--a consulting and research group specializing in the gifts and collectibles industries--despite the penetration of electronic greetings, some 70 percent of consumer households still purchase traditional greeting cards from traditional retailers. The study, "The Greeting Card and Stationery Report 2002: The Market, The Competitors, The Trends," cites sales data from 2000, during which the category grew sales 5 percent over the prior year, generating $14 billion through all retail distribution channels.
