McKesson APS

Drug Store News, May 19, 2003

McKesson Automated Prescription Systems recently unveiled its new AccuMed system, powered by AutoLink. Designed to automate the storage, counting, dispensing and tracking of tablets and capsules in retail and outpatient pharmacies, the new system represents another integrated component of McKesson APS' full product offering.

The new AccuMed system features faster dispensing--it can count and dispense up to 10 pills per second, making AccuMed the fastest technology on the market and allowing pharmacies to handle higher prescription volumes, while providing pharmacists with more time for drug interaction checking and patient-counseling activities.

Other features include a compact design, enhanced security and accuracy, expanded capacity, easier use and maintenance, as well as enhanced medication tracking and reporting. The new AccuMed system can be combined in a variety of configurations with other McKesson APS systems so pharmacies can expand their current systems and leverage their investments in automation.
