Albertsons

Drug Store News,  May 23, 2005

BOISE, Idaho -- Albertsons announced earlier this month that it is retooling its supply chain, food operations and Six Sigma Quality functions.

As part of the changes, Bob Dunst, current executive vice president and chief technology officer, also will oversee the company's supply chain organization, which includes procurement, inventory management, distribution, warehousing and logistics.

Clarence Gabriel, former executive vice president of supply chain and asset management, is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

In food operations, Bob Butler, former executive vice president of food operations, is retiring after 31 years of service. Paul Gannon, current executive vice president and chief marketing officer, will add responsibility for all of the company's food operations.

Felicia Thornton, executive vice president and chief financial officer, also will be responsible for the company's Six Sigma Quality Control program and the Office of Enterprise Program Management.

Dunst, Gannon and Thornton all will serve as members of the company's executive council.

In a separate announcement, Albertsons stated that Sue Klug will serve as senior vice president of sales and merchandising for its California food division, effective May 23. She reports to Pete Van Helden, president and chief executive officer of Albertsons' California food division.

Klug most recently served as chief development officer for Catalina Marketing Corp.
