Drug Store News, June 26, 2006
Asian-American women gravitate toward higher-end products in health and beauty care, but are price-conscious at the same time. And that's a consumer that Walgreens' new line of skin care products appeals to with its high-end cache and low price points.
Walgreens teamed up with famous Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jan Adams to create its Women of Color Total Skin Care System, a five-SKU line specially designed for the skin of Asian, Indian, Hispanic and African-American women. The line ranges from a Microdermabrasion Treatment to a Skin Lightener. All of the products are priced below $15 and are available exclusively at Walgreens, at least for the time being. If Walgreens doesn't retain its exclusive rights, the product line could be made available to all retailers later this year.
