Walgreens, which is rolling out hundreds of co-branded items under an exclusive licensing deal with Universal Studios, plans to create special end-caps where all the items can be merchandised together in an off-shelf presentation, according to Michael Gottsagen, vice president of retail development for Universal Studios Consumer Products Group.
Gottsagen said Walgreens will be using the endcaps, as well as more focused ads in its circulars, to make a more compelling merchandising statement.
The featured properties, which include "The Land Before Time" and "Jurassic Park" movie franchises, are being introduced to categories that range from snack foods and frozen desserts to baby thermometers.
