Sun care brings bright sales … thanks, in part, to line extensions

In North Carolina, cosmetic buyer Toni Markham and sun care buyer William Ammonds teamed up to create a Save Your Skin pre-summer endcap designed to stimulate sales of all types of skin-related products--from sun protectants to body lotions and bath additives.

Markham explains: "We start it at Easter. We take an endcap close to skin, and we mix suntan and sun protection products in with skin and bath items. We feature premium brands like Neutrogena, Nivea, Keri and Coppertone."

Markham says the promotion has worked "very well" for Crown.
