NBWA\Brewers conference April 25-28

Modern Brewery Age, March 29, 2004

Beer wholesalers and brewers will be in Washington, D.C. once again for the 14th Annual NBWA/BREWERS Joint Legislative Conference held April 25-28 at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. The event was not held last year due to the war in Iraq. "Last year we made a tough call not to move forward with the Legislative Conference in light of world events beyond our control," said NBWA President David Rehr. "Therefore, wholesalers and brewers must turn out in great numbers to this year's event to passionately advocate for the issues that affect our bottom line. This event provides the beer industry with a premier opportunity to sit down with members of Congress and their staffs and discuss industry policy goals and responsibility initiatives."

Key issues this year include the excise tax roll back effort; defense of the three-tier system; responsibility efforts; and combating illegal underage purchase and consumption.
